The pairing is a secret, but itaintrite knows what it is.

It was utterly freezing in the abandoned ruins of Mendel, and he shivered under the few blankets he had managed to pack, clutching the precious bundle against his chest. Despite the cold and the silence and yes--the pain in his ass--he felt it was entirely worth it. Nine months of sickness, potbelly jokes and Youlant's over-curious inquiries had finally borne fruit, and Vino DuPre felt like he could float up in joy.

He would raise the child on Earth, he decided; hide the little one amongst others until he could finally reclaim his true destiny. Cagalli Yula Attha would not know what hit her.

The baby gurgled in joy, and Vino extended one slender finger for him to grasp. Clear blue eyes shimmered at him merrily under a shock of violent orange-and-purple hair. He had to smile then, sadly; curled around the only remnant of his true love in a desolate lab, Vino slept, and remembered.

Jona would be so proud.
